Advent Day 31: Loving One Another. Our last Bible readings come from John 13:34–35 and Hebrews 10:23–25. Happy Hogmaney to you all too! We are commanded to love one another, whether that’s yourself, neighbours, strangers in our community or friends around the world. Whatever we choose to do in our New Year - may it involve loving ourself and others in ways that will help us all thrive, whether with words of encouragement, prayers, time, a hug, be creative in ways to show love to one another. Even to a topic word study in the Bible to see all the passages and contexts where we are asked to ‘love one another’. May you have a fantastic New Year and I hope you have found this series a blessing. Thank you for joining me on this Thankful Journey Through December and blessing and God’s nearness as we step into this New Year. #advent2025 #jesus #thankfuljourneythroughdecember

Advent Day 30: Fan into Flame. Our Bible reading is found in 2 Timothy 1:6–9 today on our penultimate day. Each of us have gifts and talents that God has given us. Just like we don’t leave gifts we’ve been given at Christmas sitting in a cupboard, we enjoy them, learn how to use them better. This is similar to what we need to do with our spiritual gifts. Perhaps this is something you need to add to your goals for next year? It’s not about age, young or old we can learn new things about ourself and God. Or what other skills would you like to learn how to do? There is so much we can learn on-line as well as at local community hubs and libraries. Don’t let not knowing where be a hinderance - make it a smart goal! Blessings for your day, share in the comments what you’re adding as a goal for next year. #advent2025 #jesus #thankfuljourneythroughdecember

Advent Day 29: Seek God and Set Goals. Our Bible reading comes from Jeremiah 29:10–14. These are familure verses but read them slowly, take in the truth they bring. God will fulfill his promises. What he said he would do through Jeremiah did happen. What are some of the things you feel God is calling you to? What can you do next year to help you see these things happen? If you are reading along with my from my Advent Devotional you will find nearer the back teaching on BROAD Goals and SMART Goals. These will help you set goals in a way that you’ll be able to break them down into smaller manageable chunks. For example, reading through the whole Bible, learning a language, going on a missions trip, changing careers. All totally possible with God. Share a goal you have for next year to help give others ideas. For me, it’s learning level 1 of British Sign Language and reading through the whole Bible. But I also need to take time to seek God for something He’d like me to include that I’ve not thought of yet. See link in Profile for info on my Advent devotional book. #advent2025 #jesus #thankfuljourneythroughdecember

Advent Day 28: Keys to Succeed. Our Bible verses come from Joshua 1:5–9. Joshua was a leader, a mighty warrior, yet God had to tell him 3 times not to be afraid but instead by strong and courageous. How was he going to be able to do that and lead the Israelit’s into the promise land? The key was to meditate on God’s word day and night. When I was preparing to move to India there were times that I felt overwhelmed. I would read these verses outload and cry. my tears where because my heart and spirit felt the hope and promise from these words. I loved my time in india - God was with me ever day. He is with you too. How are you planning to spend time in God’s word this coming year? Add your comments so we can all be inspired too. Thanks. #advent2025 #jesus #thankfuljourneythroughdecember

Advent Day 27: Don’t hold back, go for it. Our Bible Passage comes from Philippians 3:7–14. Do you hear Paul’s passion in his words? He’s not worried about his status or what other think. He is totally focused on Jesus. Ask God if there is anything that is holding you back from your full potential? Do you want these things to keep holding you back next year? If not, then ask God and some wise friends to help you let go of those things and take hold of Christ Jesus. Remember Mary’s words in reponse to her task “Nothing is impossible with God.” #advent2025 #jesus #thankfuljourneythroughdecember

Advent Day 24: Don’t worry, Rejoice! Our Bible verses come from Philippians 4:4–7. This is a command to rejoice. No matter what our circumstances say but for who God is. Do as these verses say, present your requests and prayers to God - be honest with Him about how you feel and what you’re struggling with. Then leave them in your heavenly Father’s hands and then receive His love, peace and hope. When we keep our eyes on Jesus we can see His perspective and those mountains will turn to mole hills. Jesus will give us the grace and strength for today as well as the joy of knowing Jesus. Lets us praise God in and out of the storms of life. Come praise God with me today. see you tomorrow. #advent2025 #jesus #thankfuljourneythroughdecember

Advent Day 23: We are God’s children and heirs. Our Bible verse for today comes from Galatians 4:4–7. If we fully understood our true identity in Christ as a son/daughter of the King of Kings and co-heir with Jesus - and what authority we have in the heavenly realms - we would live our life and view ourselves in such a greater way - full of love, freedom and peace. If these verses are hard for you to read out over yourself - I pray you would read them out loud again and again until you feel their truth in your heart. I am so thankful that I am a daughter of the King most High. #advent2025 #jesus #thankfuljourneythroughdecember
