#20 Two areas of insecure leadership and suggestions for becoming a more secure leader.

By |April 15th, 2021|

None of us are perfect leaders. But we can hinder our leadership abilities and those we’re leading with how secure we are in our leadership. Below are two areas of insecure leadership and suggestions for becoming a more secure leader. So what are the differences between an insecure and a secure leader? And how can we develop ourselves so we can be more confident in our leadership?

Here are two areas in leading a group of people, regardless of the setting and circumstances. This isn’t going to cover everything, but I hope you can spot areas you may be struggling

#19 Things to consider when preparing to lead a bible study. Part 2 – The seven parts to a bible study.

By |April 1st, 2021|

Last week, we looked at the outside aspects to consider when preparing to lead a bible study. The group context, your role as the leader and the possible purposes of a bible study. When you’re the one leading the bible study – there is more to think about than just reading the passage and discussing it, hoping to have a quick thought to take away and end with a short prayer. If you can take the time to prepare well, there is a richness for the group and yourself.

Everything should start with prayer – not just spiritual

#18 Things to consider when preparing to lead a bible study. Part 1 – Context, purpose and the leader’s role.

By |March 25th, 2021|

Many of us have been part of bible study groups or have been one of the sections we did at youth group. But what are the things we have to consider when preparing to lead a bible study?

What have we actually been asked to lead?

Most groups have other parts to the group time together. How you welcome and start off your time together. How much social, free chatting time is there so people can connect and catch up. Do you have any worship or prayer times? Are there a catch up on what else the group is doing

#17 Integrity and online dating, are they compatible?

By |March 11th, 2021|

And as a leader, is it important?

As a leader, our level of integrity is essential. Our words and actions need to be aligned. But they also need to match who we are on the inside. Otherwise, we are, on some levels, fake.

On valentines weekend, I decided to give online dating another try. It’s a new year; I’m a healthy ‘new’ me again, so why not see who’s out there! Covid isn’t going to make it easier to meet anyone new for some time yet.

I finally found a Christian App that I didn’t have to pay to be able to message someone.

#16 9 things to stop Covid from stealing more of 2021

By |February 11th, 2021|

2021-a new year with new hopes of a vaccine to help stop Covid from limiting our lives as much as it did in 2020. We’ve put many things in our life on hold again as the 2nd wave of Covid hit in autumn last year. We hoped it wouldn’t be for too much longer as vaccines were slowly starting to roll out worldwide. But with production delays in Europe and let’s face it a whole world to vaccinate it’s going to take longer than we hoped for everyday life to return. The vaccine isn’t an assured cure, but if it

#15 What does it mean to take responsibility?

By |February 4th, 2021|

When we turn 18, we become an adult and thus in the eyes of the law we are responsible for ourselves. Yes, we probably still live with our parents and in full-time education. But it’s the start of us taking ownership and responsibility for ourselves as an adult. And then what does responsibility as the leader mean?

Many of us start the process of gaining our independence at a much younger age, from what we want to wear, eat, do in our free time. It’s all about deciding for ourselves who we are and what we want to do.

#14 The Inductive Bible Study Method

By |September 17th, 2020|

Many of us have a prefered way we study the bible. Others aren’t too sure of how to study the bible apart from reading a section or chapter and praying that God would show us more of Himself through it.

Today I’d like to share with you a method which will take you longer than the average, but the amount you get out of it is worth the time (and effort). It’s called the Inductive Bible Study method because it asks you to discover and use the text to draw conclusions from — not to find scripture to confirm your

#13 What stops me from becoming the leader I want to be? 12 things to consider:

By |July 29th, 2020|

We’re seven months into 2020, and due to Covid we probably haven’t been able to do all the things we’ve wanted to do this year yet. But Covid might not be the only thing that’s stopping you from becoming the leader you want to be! See this blog as a kind of stocktake of other possible areas that are hindering your growth. There are also five more months left in this year – so let’s make the most of them 🙂

I’d recommend before reading below to get out your notebook/ journal ready,(or even print out this blog). Ask God

#12 What is Mentoring – why it’s wise to have one?

By |July 9th, 2020|

Intro – what is mentoring?

In it’s purest form, mentoring is learning from someone who’s been in your position before and can help you grow. It can cover simple things like learning to bake, leading a small group, getting used to working in a large office environment to leading a ministry or church. A mentor can be your official leader or a peer or a friend of a friend. They can even be a stranger at the beginning.

You can even have several mentors at the same time, all helping you in different areas you want to grow in and
